Transcription: Spectacles have existed in some form since the 12th century. Nowadays, they're the commonest form of eyesight correction. Contact lenses are also widely used. They're made specifically to the individual requirements of the wearer and can come in both soft and hard varieties. More recently, lenses which can alter the color of the eyes have come onto the market. These are worn for both medical and cosmetic purposes.
